I had concert t-shirts, some as old as 47 years, that had been sitting in a box for decades. I finally got around to having them made into quilts to be hung on walls in my unfinished basement. When I received the box with the 3 quilts and took a look, I was astonished at the craftmanship that was used to knit them together. An incredible job !! Instread of those memories of shows past collecting dust in a box, they will now come alive every time I go into the basement. this blanket was something I was so excited to surprise my husband with. I was wondering if the sports jerseys would work as a blanket but wanted to turn them into something that he could use, as well as preserve his memories. I had ideas of what I wanted it to look like, but when I received it I was so excited to see that it was more beautiful and special then anything I could have imagined. This thing is AMAZING!! I love being able to see some of my favorite shirts ever all in one place. The blanquilt is surprisingly heavy and warm, and the fleece backing is perfectly soft. If I still had more shirts on hand, I would get another in a heartbeat. My wife heard about t-shirt blanquilts on Instagram, and she suggested that would be a great way to clear out some of my numerous t-shirts that I seldomly wore. After some research, American Quilt Co. was the best of the several companies offering the service, and I know now that I made the right choice. Pay for the kit with prepaid postage - it's well worth it!

I got 2 twin size using mostly xxl size t-shirts, so I went with the 14” panels to avoid loss of the edge of the t-shirt’s graphics. This picture displays my blanquilt spread out on a queen size bed. (My husband’s is pictured in a separate review.) We are very pleased with our blanquilts, and love the memories that each t-shirt graphic represents to us.

The throw I ordered honestly exceeded my expectations. Considering some of the t-shirts I used were slightly ‘used’, they were cut and sewn so well you don’t even notice. The fleece backing is soft and looks great. I am excited to give my son this when he leaves for college.

This quilt is heavy weight and amazing quality. It far exceeded my expectations. Only problem is that I had it made for my son, but I really want to keep it for myself!

Don’t hesitate to use American Quilt Co. The process is simple and quick. You don’t have to precut your T-shirts, just mark them accordingly, send them in, and shortly after you get a quilt blanket of highest quality. The back side is thick and super soft. It’s sewing is accurately and beautifully done. I called with a special request, someone answered the phone immediately, helped me without hesitation and followed through. All over great company, great customer service and even better product.

We were very impressed with how great the blanquilt looks and feels -- the backing is so soft -- and the quality of the craftsmanship. The shirts we submitted for it were all cut and centered perfectly, and we're excited to have those put to good use again. For how tightly packed it was in the shipping box, it is a great size for a blanket covering, and it is surprisingly heavy, almost like a weighted blanket (a bit of an exaggeration, but it makes the point). Our only disappointment is that it is now spring and heading into summer, so we may not get to use it much for the next few months, but it will be great to use as the seasons change yet again.

This was a fun experience from the beginning to the end! I have a closet full of t shirts that I’ve collected during my travels over the years. Each one sparks a special memory. I absolutely loved my experience with American Quilt Co. Blanquilts! Everyone who I talked to was very accommodating and answered my questions and concerns ahead of time. I bought this Blanquilt for my Grandmother who lost my Grandfather in May. They were married for 74 years and this was going to be the first Christmas and Anniversary that they wouldn’t be together. I asked the company if they could use materials other than tshirts to make the quilt like bandanas and button up shirts. To my surprise they said yes! They upgraded my size for free and even did a beautifully touching price to the quilt and included the leftover material of one of the bandanas and sewed it into my Grandfather’s Shirts. I didn’t ask them to do that and everyone in my family was very touched by the gesture. You could tell that it was made with the absolute best care and love. Thank you so much for making this beautiful memorial piece for our family. My Grandmother loves that she has something to hold onto just like in her wedding vows. I highly recommend this company and hope to be back again for more blanquilts.
